JAMMU: VHP and Bajrang Dal today protested against the waving of Pakistani flags during a rally by separatists in South Kashmir and demanded the arrest of Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani.

Over 200 activists of VHP and Bajrang Dal led by Bajrang Dal convenor Rakesh Kumar, held protest demonstration against Geelani outside the Press Club area in the city.

Raising anti-government and anti-Geelani slogans, they burnt his effigy and demanded his arrest along with others on sedation charges.

"We demand arrest of Geelani and others for waving Pakistani flags at a public rally in Tral belt of South Kashmir yesterday and state government should take swift action against them," Kumar said.

The rally held yesterday in Tral in South Kashmir, which was the first in seven years by the separatist leader in the militancy-infested township, witnessed pro-Pakistan sloganeering and waving of Pakistani flags.

He hit out at the government for failure to curb separatists who are repeatedly waving Pakistani flags on Indian soil.
