NEW DELHI: A city court is likely to pronounce its verdict in the eight-year-old Kunjum Budhiraja murder case on Wednesday.

Additional sessions judge S P Garg had reserved the order in the case on January 30 following the submission of prosecutions rebuttal in the case.

The case figures former Congress member Romesh Sharma and his nephew Surinder Mishra.

Budding fashion designer Kunjum was murdered on March 20, 1999. There are seven accused in the case, including Romesh Sharma. Others who figure in the chargesheet include his nephew Surinder Mishra and two women Tejinder Virdi alias Dolly and Jaspreet Virdi alias Sonu who the prosecution claims were intimate with Sharma.

The prosecution alleges that Kunjum was murdered by people engaged by Surinder Mishra, at the farmhouse when she visited it on March 20, 1999.

During the investigation, it was allegedly found that Surinder Mishra, Dolly and Sonu wanted to get rid of Kunjum as they felt that while they were taking care of Romesh and attending to his court cases, Romesh was giving away his property to Kunjum.
