Venu Rajamony likely to join as Press Secretary to President

Venu Rajamony, 1986 batch IFS officer, is likely to be appointed as Press Secretary to President Pranab Mukherjee.

NEW, DELHI: Venu Rajamony, 1986 batch IFS officer, is likely to be appointed as Press Secretary to President Pranab Mukherjee.

A notification in this regard is likely shortly. Rajamony is currently handling issues related to multilateral funding agencies including World Bank and IMF in the Finance Ministry.

The IFS officer, a law graduate and Masters in International Studies from JNU, had served in the Indian missions in Hong Kong, Beijing, Washington and Geneva.

He joined the Ministry of Finance in October 2010. He also worked in the Ministry of External Affairs as Joint Secretary (Energy security).
