Venkaiah Naidu urges govt, opposition to collectively resolve stalemate in Parliament
It has been learnt that Naidu also discussed the stalemate in the House with Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge after the first adjournment of the House on Tuesday.

Sources said Naidu asked both sides to “collectively resolve the stalemate”. On Monday evening, he held a meeting with defence minister Rajnath Singh, home minister Amit Shah, parliamentary affairs minister Pralhad Joshi and leader of Rajya Sabha Piyush Goyal. After the RS was adjourned till noon on Tuesday, Naidu discussed the logjam with leader of the opposition Mallikarjun Kharge. Meanwhile, in the Business Advisory Committee meeting of the RS, the government and opposition agreed to take up seven bills in the coming week and allotted 17 hours to discuss them. In the meeting, Naidu again appealed to all sides to enable normal functioning of the House, sources said.
The Tribunals Reforms Bill, Airports Regulation Authority Bill, General Insurance Nationalisation (Amendment) Bill, Limited Liability Partnership (Amendment) Bill, Deposits Insurance Bill, among others, will be discussed in the RS in the coming days. It was also agreed to take up the notice given by Binoy Viswam (CPI) and MVS Kumar (LJD) for annulling the recently issued IT rules.
