VCK leader welcomes G K Vasan's decision to quit Congress
Former Union Minister G K Vasan's decision to quit Congress and float a new political outfit find support from Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi leader Thol Tirumavalavan.

Major national political parties like the Congress and BJP were not honouring the rights and sentiments of the state units and hence such developments would be the natural fall out, Thirumavalavan said talking to reporters here.
At the same time there would be no big political change with Vasan rolling out a new political outfit in Tamil Nadu, he said.
He took strong exception to the slapping of death penatly against five Tamilnadu fishermen by a Sri Lankan court saying,"the fishermen were falsely implicated".
Appealing to the Prime Minister to intervene immediately and ensure that the punishment awarded to fishermen were quashed and that they were released, Thirumavalavan said VCK was totally opposed to the capital punishment as such.
He urged that the provisions of the Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act implemented in letter and spirit in the Union Territory.
