The BJP Central leadership is said to be of the view that outgoing CMs Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Vasundhara Raje and Raman Singh should not be brought to the Centre as ministers or central office bearers till the Lok Sabha elections as they should be at the helm of the campaign against Congress in their states.

There have been reports that Chouhan may be made a Cabinet minister and given charge of the Agriculture ministry. However, two senior party leaders said the overwhelming view within the organisation is that he would be more effective as Leader of the Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly.

Raje and Raman Singh are also likely to be made Leader of Opposition in the Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, respectively. Though a leadership tussle is not being ruled out by some within the BJP due to dissensions, a change so close to the Lok Sabha polls may upset the applecart.
