Beleaguered Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje Scindia took time out to shut herself in Ma Pitambara temple in Datia district of Madhya Pradesh for two-and-a-half days and perform puja.

BHOPAL: Beleaguered Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje Scindia took time out to shut herself in Ma Pitambara temple in Datia district of Madhya Pradesh for two-and-a-half days and perform puja. She reached the temple, a few hundred kms from Gwalior on July 29 and left on July 31 noon. She was scheduled to visit the temple on July 12, but it was cancelled, sources said.

It is her second visit in one month to the famous temple where politicians of all hues can be seen coming to pay obeisance, particularly in a turbulent phase of their career.

Havans and puja performed by her in temple are being seen in that light. Vasundhara is chairperson of the temple trust. Sources in the temple said she performed a special puja, reciting bhajans in the sanctum sanctorum for more than two hours on Thursday . On July 31, she performed guru poornima puja.

Except for temple priest Acharya Shree Ram Panda, she hardly met anyone during her stay and remained indoors amid tight security , sources said.During her visit, she lives inside the temple in a spacious room, sources said. During her last visit on July 8, she was accompanied by her son Dushyant Singh, a BJP MP, embroiled in Lalitgate. They spent 26 hours inside the temple.
