Besides the financial support, looking at the acute shortage of medical supplies, the Group is contributing by manufacturing Masks and PPE’s at its Garments unit in Ludhiana and supplying it free of cost to the local government hospitals.
CHANDIGARH: Vardhman Group headed by chairman SP Oswal today announced a sum of Rs 5 crore forthe Prime Minister’s COVID-19 relief fund. Additionally, the Group has announced a contribution of Rs one crore to the Punjab Government, Rs one crore to Madhya Pradesh , Rs 50 lakh to Himachal Pradesh and Rs 11 lakh to Gujarat.

In a statement Vardhman Group said that it deeply appreciates the bold and timely measures undertaken by the Government of India under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. “While the Centre Government has undertaken drastic measures, it is the duty and responsibility of each one of us to ensure that minimum possible pain is inflicted on the Citizens of the Country especially the economically weaker sections of society,” said SP Oswal, chairman, Vardhman Group.

The financial assistance to Punjab includes Rs 50 lakh paid directly to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and another Rs 50 lakh for the critical medical supplies in the Government Hospitals. The office of Chief Minister tweeted about the gesture of Vardhman Group and urged industry to contribute towards this humanitarian effort.


In Madhya Pradesh, the Group has contributed a sum of Rs 1 Cr to the Chief Minister’s Relief fund. Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, expressed his gratitude towards Vardhman Group on his twitter handle saying that he wholeheartedly appreciates the cooperation and the support received.

In Himachal Pradesh too, the Group has contributed Rs 50 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to help the State Govt. in fighting the ongoing menace of Covid-19 Jai Ram Thakur, the Chief Minister lauded the financial support from Vardhman Group at this time of crisis. Vardhman has also contributed Rs 11 lakh to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund in Gujarat.
