Varanasi to welcome Narendra Modi with open arms
The prospect of having Modi as a tenant has the town agog leading to a scramble among city’s rich and famous to offer a property suitable for him.

While Modi is set to file his nomination papers on April 24, he will kickstart his campaign in the city much before that. Meanwhile, the prospect of having Modi as a house guest or tenant has the town agog and has led to a scramble among the city’s rich and famous to offer a property suitable for Gujarat CM.
"Besides a house, we will be finalising an election office for Modi in the next few days," said Rakesh Trivedi, BJP V-P for the Kashi region. "We are still looking at prospective locations. In fact, many senior leaders and prominent businessmen have offered their places for Modiji. But nothing is finalized as yet." The choice will be made by the candidate or his team members, said Varanasi-based former BJP MLC and treasurer Ashok Dhawan.
Amit Shah, BJP general secretary in charge of UP, is arriving here on March 29 and the final decision maybe taken then, said party insiders. Some businessmen are ready to provide a home that would be good enough for Modi, said DN Jhunjhunwala, chairman of JVL Agro Industries. Trivedi, however, says the party may look for a leasing arrangment.
