LUCKNOW: The administration in Varanasi has been asked to remain alert and chalk a contingency plan keeping in view the weather condition ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo's visit there on December 12.

"Though the weather was fine today, but keeping in view the forecast by different agencies that fog could occur in the next two days, Varanasi administration has been directed to remain alert and chalk a contingency plan for landing and other programmes," IG (law and order) A Satish Ganesh told reporters here.

Four more ADGPs have been deployed for the PM's visit. A rehersal would be held tomorrow after which the officers would be briefed, he said.
