PUNE: Pune-based Vanarai received an amount of $ 39,000 grant from the UPS Foundation, the charitable arm of UPS. Vanarai, the Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) has said that the grant will be used towards establishment of Eco-clubs in 250 schools in rural and semi urban areas of Pune district.

Each Eco-club will consist of 50 members and one teacher and work towards sensitisation of students towards environmental issues.

Established in 1951 and based in Atlanta, Ga., The UPS Foundation identifies specific areas where its backing impacts social issues. In 2012, the UPS Foundation distributed more than $ 49.2 million worldwide in charity.
