Vajpayee invites Gowda for talks

BANGALORE: Former Prime Minister A B Vajapyee has invited JDS supremo H D Devegowda for parleys to decide on smooth transition of power from JDS to BJP in Karnataka, it was announced on Tuesday.
"Gowda will be meeting Vajapyee after September 27 in New Delhi to discuss power transfer issue", JDS spokesman Y S V Datta told the press in the midst of the party's emergent Legislature Party meeting held here.
The Legisalture party confined its deliberations to chalkout strategies for the September 28 Urban Local Bodies elections, he said.
Datta said the issue of power tranfer over which his party leaders have been sending conflicting signals was not discussed at the today's meeting.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister H D Kumraswamy has invited his father Gowda and ministers representing JDS in the coalition government for a breakfast meeting tomorrow, also to discuss about the upcoming ULBs polls.
Under the power sharing pact entered into during 2006, JDS is required to handover power to BJP on October three.
