Vaiko demands Karunanidhi's resignation
MDMK Chief Vaiko on Thursday sought the resignation of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi saying law and order has failed in the state and alleged that the attack on newspaper 'Dinakaran' is due to "imposition of dynastic rule".
"The family feud of the Chief Minister has ended in this terrible murder and arson everything....Karunanidhi has no moral right and authority to continue as Chief Minister becuause Police portfolio is his portfolio", he told reporters.
Contesting Karunanidhi's statement that there is no no place for dynastic rule in his party, he said what has happened "is (the violence) nothing but a testiomony of the imposition of dynastic rule in a party founded by Periyar. He also criticised state police for their inaction when the violence took place. "The police played the idle spectator when all this terrible incidents, attacks took place", Vaiko said.
