Vadodara Congress nominee seeks strong observers' team for poll
VADODARA: Congress candidate from Vadodara Lok Sabha seat, Narendra Ravat has requested the Election Commission to set up a strong team of observers for the April 30 election here.

BJP's prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi is his rival contender from the seat.

In his letter dated yesterday, Ravat requested Chief Election Commissioner V S Sampat to set up a strong monitoring team of central observers for election in the Vadodara constituency, to ensure that government mechanisms are not misused and election code of conduct is not violated.

In the letter, Ravat alleged that BJP was trying to misguide the voters and spreading false propaganda by claiming that they will lead by a record margin from the seat.

He feared that to fulfil such tall claims, the government machinery might be misused.

Ravat also requested the EC to deploy CRPF in Vadodara to ensure free and fair elections.
