Uttrakhand organising ambassador's meet to attract investment

Ambassadors and High Commissioners of more than a dozen countries are scheduled to participate in the meet.

DEHRADUN: Looking to attract investment in Uttarakhand, an ambassadors' meet is being organised by the state government here tomorrow.

Ambassadors and High Commissioners of more than a dozen countries like Bangladesh, Burundi, Gabon, Georgia, Indonesia, Lithuania, Madagascar, Malaysia, Nepal, Nigeria, Portugal, Singapore, Tajikistan and Trinidad and Tobago are scheduled to participate in the meet, being organised by Uttarakhand government and Industries Association of Uttarakhand (IAU).

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank will address the ambassadors' meet, which will deliberate upon trade and investment opportunities with Uttarakhand, said IAU President Pankaj Gupta.

An exhibition on the theme, "Showcasing Uttarakhand: Land of Opportunities", would also be organised to make the ambassadors' and high commissioners aware of the possibility of investment in various sectors in the hill state, he said.

These sectors include food processing, electronics, forest-based industries, handicrafts, herbs-based industry, information technology, pharmaceuticals, the service industry, tourism, tea production and processing and automobiles.
