Uttarakhand floods: BJP suspends poll campaign in Rajasthan
JAIPUR: BJP has postponed sixth phase of its ongoing 'Suraj Sankalp Yatra' in poll-bound Rajasthan in view of the Uttarakhand flood tragedy, as the party workers will focus on collecting funds for relief of affected people.

The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by BJP state president Vasundhara Raje here, party sources said. The sixth phase was scheduled to begin from tomorrow.

Workers across the state will go door to door to collect fund for the relief and rehabilitation of flood victims.

Today's meeting was convened to discuss the situation of people, especially those stranded from the state, stranded in Uttarakhand, they said.

Raje, after the meeting, alleged that the efforts made by Centre and the state government are insufficient, and government has not been able prepare a list of missing people even after ten days of the disaster.

Raje was quoted as saying by the sources that she will not be visiting the flood-hit state as the visit may interrupt relief work.
