Uttarakhand Congress writes to PM Narendra Modi, asks to address local issues

In his letter to the Prime Minister, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief Kishore Upadhyay has asked Modi to look immediately into the issues raised by his party.
Among the major demands, the state Congress wants that Uttarakhand be brought under the ambit of 10 per cent reservation in central jobs, the PCC chief said.
Rs 4,000 crore have been sought for rehabilitation of flood affected people, Upadhyay said.
He also demanded that the Centre extend the economic package given to the state for the next 10 years besides aiding central projects that have been shut down here.
The state Congress, in the letter, also sought Centre's support in cleansing of the Ganga river and asked for a 'Green Bonus' for environment protection.
The Congress party also expressed disappointment with the Prime Minister's visit to Rishikesh on Friday saying he did not convey his "Mann ki baat" to the people on local issues.
