DEHRADUN: Asking Nabard to become a partner with the state government in the development works, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat today sought a detailed action plan from the financial institution in this regard.

At a meeting with Nabard Chief General Manager C P Mohan who called on him at the Bijapur Guest House, Rawat asked him to cooperate in building small markets on Chardham yatra routes and general infrastructural expansion in rural areas.

Besides, Nabard can also lend a helping hand in constructing schools, hospitals and establishing small industrial units, an official release quoting the Chief Minister said.

Nabard can work in tandem with the state government in establishing one business centre for at least one thousand people and constructing bridges and roads.

Nabard must prepare an extensive plan on all these points and send it to the state government, he said adding that a high-level meeting would be arranged again with Nabard in the second week of this month.

The government has launched several important schemes in the interest of common people including 'Mera Gaon, Meri Sadak', 'protection wall to reduce human-wildlife conflict' and 'establishment of livestock farming college', and participation of Nabard is very essential to achieve the desired objective.
