Uttarakhand CM announces setting up of "Swatantra Senani Utaradhikar Kalyan Parishad"

NEW DELHI: Keeping an eye on the coming 2017 assembly polls, Uttarakhand Chief Minister announced that his government would soon set up “Swatantra Senani Utaradhikar Kalyan Parishad” in his state in order to ensure proper care of the dependents of freedom fighters.

He was speaking on the occasion of death anniversary of late Budhi Prakash, former president of “Uttarakhand Swatantrata Senani Evam Utaradhikar Sangathan” in Dehradun on Thursday.

CM Rawat said his government has already taken a decision to name the educational institution, schools and colleges after the freedom fighters of the state. He informed the gathering that his government has given instruction to all DMs in this regard. He invited suggestions from the people for naming such institutions after freedom fighters.

He underlined the need for making policies for the welfare of dependents of freedom fighters and those who participated in the statehood agitation.
