Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna filed his nomination papers from Sitarganj Assembly constituency for which by-election would be held on July 8, officials said.

DEHRA DUN: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna today filed his nomination papers from Sitarganj Assembly constituency for which by-election would be held on July 8, officials said.

Bahuguna was flanked by PCC Chief and Revenue Minister Yashpal Arya, Pauri Garhwal MP Satpal Maharaj and other senior leaders.

Union Minister Harish Rawat was, however, conspicuous with his absence.

The seat fell vacant after BJP MLA Kiran Mandal resigned last month to facilitate Bahuguna to enter the Legislative Assembly.
