Uttar Pradesh set to hand over Alaknanda tourist rest house to Uttarakhand in December

Both state governments made progress in solving the pending issues between them after the BJP came to power in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand in 2017.

Uttar Pradesh will hand over the possession of Haridwar-based Alaknanda tourist rest house to Uttarakhand in December with the two states agreeing to settling pending issues related to division of assets and liability.

The two states have been struggling to resolve the issues pending since the creation of Uttarakhand in 2000.

On Thursday, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami held a meeting with UP CM Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow and discussed such pending issues.


The bus stand land in Kichha will be also transferred to Uttarakhand. The UP government has also agreed to clear the pending dues of the Uttarakhand’ forest department.
