Uttar Pradesh optimises medical resources, manpower
Isolation beds in hospitals will be vacated for more critical patients,” principal health secretary Amit Mohan Prasad said in a news briefing in Lucknow on Tuesday.

“Since 75% of the positive cases have not shown symptoms, we have decided that we will reserve such lodging facilities like hotels and lodges next to hospitals where there will only be asymptomatic patients and a team of doctors and nurses to take care of them.
Isolation beds in hospitals will be vacated for more critical patients,” principal heath secretary Amit Mohan Prasad said in a news briefing in Lucknow on Tuesday.
Prasad said about 10,000 beds will added to 10,000 isolation beds at medical facilities. Prasad said zonal heads will be allowed to pool patients to a single hospital.
“Our dedicated Covid-19 hospitals had to be used even if one or two patients were found positive in a district. It was exposing a larger group of doctors and not a prudent allocation of resources. So from now districts in a zone will be pooled and all patients will be kept together in a hospital so that we can make efficient use of our manpower. When one hospital gets full, we can move to the next one,” said Prasad.
