LUCKNOW: Both the houses of the Uttar Pradesh legislature were today adjourned sine die after a brief winter session.

The session which began on a stromy note on December 5 with opposition parties attacking the government over the plight of cane growers and delay in starting of the sugarcane crushing season, passed the second supplementary budget of 2013-2014 at Rs 3,619.76 crores among the other important business.

In the brief session, the all-party committee set up to probe political interference in dealing with Muzaffarnagar riots and role of a senior minister in it, as highlighted in a sting operation, submitted its interim report holding the channel guilty of breach of privilege for not cooperating and the house passed a resolution to summon the channel's head.
