Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav asks officers to ensure fertilisers for farmers

LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today directed the officers to take all measures to ensure availability of fertilisers to the farmers.

During a review meeting here Akhilesh said that it should be ensured that no problem was faced by the farmers and directed them to take stern action against stockist and blackmarketeers.

The officers informed the CM that sowing for Rabi season was almost complete and fertiliser demand of farmers has increased for top dressing.

They said that availability of fertiliser depends upon allocation by the Centre.

The officers said that as against demand of 38 lakh MT only 35 lakh MT has been allocated.

The Chief Minister said the issue should be raised before the Centre and efforts should be made to get entire quota.
