Uttar Pradesh Assembly's winter session to start in November 2nd week

A decision in this regard was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by CM Akhilesh Yadav today, Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan told reporters.

LUCKNOW: Winter session of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly will begin in November second week, a senior government official said here today.

A decision in this regard was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today, Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan told reporters.

Talking about other decisions taken at the meeting, Ranjan said the state government will not allot any new mining contract. The allotment was stopped after May 31, 2012.

The Cabinet also approved a policy for assured career promotion for government employees and a policy for promotion of textile industries, he said.

About the state government's ambitious laptop distribution scheme, Ranjan said 1,500 laptops, which are already available, will be distributed to meritorious students in the coming year, but no new laptop will be purchased.
