New Delhi: ‘Disputes’ and ‘personal enmity’ were the two principal motives for murders in 2017, according to the latest National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) report. Released after a delay of two years, the report says the number of murder cases in 2017 declined to 28,653 (30,450). Uttar Pradesh (4,324) and Bihar (2,803) among states and Delhi (487) among UTs recorded the maximum numbers of murder cases.
