Uttar Pradesh: 13-year-old girl gang-raped, police to invoke NSA against accused
Satyendra Kumar, Superintendent of Police (SP), Lakhimpur Kheri said two men have been booked under offences of murder and gangrape, adding that action will also be taken against them under the NSA.
The two accused have been arrested under the provisions of the National Security Act. The father of the deceased said his daughter had stepped out to use the public toilet when she was abducted. She was found dead in a sugarcane field and alleged that the accused had inflicted brutal injuries on the girl’s eyes and that her tongue had been cut before she was strangulated to death.
However, SP of Lakhimpur Kheri district, Satendra Kumar, while confirming the rape, has denied allegations of disfigurement by the father. Kumar said the post-mortem report has not confirmed the allegations levelled by the father. He said that the injury to the eyes was due to bruises she sustained by the sharp sugarcane leaves, while her tongue got affected because of strangulation.
The two accused –– Madanlal and Ram Jivan –– have also been booked under charges pertaining to the SC/ST Act, along with NSA and charges of rape and murder.
