US will partner with India during Paris climate meet: Top US diplomats
NEW DELHI: Top American diplomats today brought up the issue of poor air quality of Delhi as they vowed to strongly partner with India in the crucial climate conference in Paris later this year.

"I think, I know, it is near and dear to everyone's heart who lives in New Delhi... we are going to be incredibly strong partners on climate," US Under Secretary for Political Affairs Wendy R Sherman said here.

She said everyone is heading towards the meeting in Paris hoping for an agreement to ensure that a green planet is left behind for the next generations to come.

"Everyday day in Delhi, you understand in a way, a lot in the world may not, those climate challenges are very very dear," she said.

The quality of Delhi air has worsened. in October last year, the US Embassy here had said air quality - as measured at a monitoring station in the embassy compound - had reached "very unhealthy" levels.
