Richard Olson, Special US Representative for Afghanistan & Pakistan, has embarked on a two-day visit to India to hold talks with top officials on a range of key issues.

WASHINGTON: Richard Olson, Special US Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, has embarked on a two-day visit to India to hold talks with top officials on a range of key issues, including India's role in promoting stability and prosperity in the region.

Olson will hold discussions on promoting Afghan-led, Afghan-owned peace and reconciliation process during his visit starting today, the State Department said.

"The visit is also an opportunity for US officials to express appreciation for India's support for the people and government of Afghanistan, including trade ties, security and development assistance, as well as India's key role in promoting a more stable and prosperous region," it said.
