The United States is reviewing the Gazette notification of the Indian government with regard to the Nuclear Liability Act, a US official said.

WASHINGTON: The United States is reviewing the Gazette notification of the Indian government with regard to the Nuclear Liability Act, a US official said.

"I think we're still in the process of studying the contents.

"Once we've reviewed them thoroughly, then we'll have comment," the State Department spokesman, Mark Toner, said at his daily news conference.

Toner was responding to questions about the Gazette notification of the new rules under its Nuclear Liability Act.

According to the new liability rules, suppliers would be liable only for accidents which occur within five years of a reactor license being granted.

The issue is most likely to be discussed when the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will meet US President Barack Obama today in Bali.
