An overseas wing of the Indian National Congress in the US has congratulated the party for "magnificent victory" in the general elections and said electorates have rejected opposition's divisive politics.

NEW YORK: An overseas wing of the Indian National Congress in the US has congratulated the party for "magnificent victory" in the general elections and said electorates have rejected opposition's divisive politics.
The Indian National Overseas Congress (INOC) said that the poll showed the "political maturity" of the Indian electorate in rejecting sectarianism and communal politics of the opposition.
"Indian National Overseas Congress, USA salutes Congress party, its allies in UPA and the people of India for a magnificent victory in the general election," said General Secretary of the party George Abraham.
The election has indeed shown the political maturity of the Indian electorate in rejecting sectarian and communal politics of the opposition and they have also sent a strong message to continue with the development policies of the current UPA government, he added.
"The election has re-affirmed people's faith in the Congress party and its policies and illustrated further their support for the clean governance of the Manmohan Singh Government," said Surinder Malhotra, President of INOC.
"Integrity and honesty in Government still matters and the people's verdict in this election is an endorsement for transparency in government and visionary leadership," he added.
