US expresses satisfaction over Indo-Pak talks

The US has expressed its satisfaction over the just concluded foreign secretary-level talks between India and Pakistan.

WASHINGTON: The US has expressed its satisfaction over the just concluded foreign secretary-level talks between India and Pakistan.

"We are very gratified to see the two sides (India and Pakistan) talking and we look forward to the outcome," State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland said.

"We were just very pleased to see them talking," Nuland said in response to a question.

Two days of talks between Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao and her counterpart Salman Bashir ended yesterday in Islamabad on a positive note, paving the way for discussions between Foreign Ministers of the two countries in New Delhi next month.
