NEW DELHI: US Congress member Tulsi Gabbard today met Prime Minister Narendra Modi here and discussed various issues including regional security challenges, terrorism and yesterday's attack on a school in Peshawar.

The Democrat Representative from Hawaii also discussed Indo-US relations and environmental challenges, a PMO statement said.

She complimented Modi on his domestic initiatives for accelerating growth, promoting inclusive economic development, providing basic necessities and promoting cleanliness, it said.

Gabbard also expressed keen interest in India's spiritual and cultural traditions and spoke about her efforts to promote them in the United States, the statement said.
