US chapter of Overseas Friends of BJP to raise US $250,000 for party's social media campaign

WASHINGTON: The US chapter of the Overseas Friends of BJP has announced to raise more than US $ 250,000 to launch a social media campaign and to place advertisements in major Indian dailies ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

"We are planning to place recurring advertisements in major ethnic newspapers of US and India, and also in TV media," said OFBJP president Chandrakant Patel. He asked the BJP supporters to make generous donations for the campaign to bring the party back to power.

According to Patel, the itemised estimated budget of the campaign include US $ 20,000 for T-shirts, bumper stickers, post cards, banners and flyers; US $ 50,000 for advertisement in newspapers and TV channels in the US and India; US $ 25,000 for organizing election campaign events including live events: and US $ 100,000 for India campaign help.
