US Ambassador Richard Verma meets L K Advani; discuss Indo-US ties

NEW DELHI: US Ambassador Richard Verma today met veteran BJP leader L K Advani and the two are learnt to have discussed Indo-US ties and the issue of unitedly fighting terror.

Verma called on Advani at his residence and spent amore than half an hour with the former deputy Prime Minister.

The two discussed the growing Indo-US relations as well as India's ties with Pakistan in the wake of terror groups operating from there and the role US can play in helping dismantle them, sources close to Advani said.

The sources said the senior BJP leader also discussed the need to fight terrorism for peace to prevail in the world and that it was in every country's interest to fight it.

This was the first meeting of Verma with Advani after he took over as US Ambassador in Delhi.
