US Ambassador Nancy Powell's resignation signifies Modi wave in India, says BJP
Punjab BJP today termed resignation of US Ambassador Nancy Powell as a strong example of Modi wave in India, Kamal Sharma, Punjab BJP President, said in a statement.

"It was the same US who did not take back case against Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade, but now insisted for resignation of its Ambassador to India as she had underestimate swelling power of Narendra Modi and BJP in India," Kamal Sharma, Punjab BJP President, said in a statement.
He claimed that Powell's proximity with UPA government led her to underestimate Modi's wave. She had sent very "cold report" about Modi but when the US realised that Powell's report was not matching with the reality.
"Then first it decided to sent Powell to meet Modi in Gujarat. Even after that US felt that this was not sufficient then it asked her to resign," said Sharma. When asked about issue of 'Operation Blue Star' being raised by Congress candidate Captain Amrinder Singh, Sharma said "Arun Jaitly and our party has already said that he (Captain) is part of that party which had planned and executed the operation, so it's better to ask Sonia or Rahul about it."
