UPSC should create Indian Sports Service on par with IAS/IPS: Bishen Singh Bedi

TIRUCHIRAPPALLI: Former India cricket captain Bishen Singh Bedi today said Union Public Service Commission should create an Indian Sports Service (ISS) on par with IAS/IPS.

Only sports and games will inculcate peace of mind and energy to the youth, the former spinner said.

He was an addressing an international convention on 'renaissances in sports strategies, challenges and choice' at the National College here.

The three-day convention is being organised by the National College Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences in collaboration with Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
