UPPCS question paper leak: HC rejects plea seeking CBI probe
ALLAHABAD: The Allahabad High Court today rejected a petition seeking a CBI inquiry into the leakage of question papers for PCS (Preliminary) exams held across Uttar Pradesh last month.

A Division Bench comprising justices V K Shukla and Ranjana Pandya passed the order on a writ petition of Ayodhya Prasad Singh and four others who had appeared in the examinations held on March 29.

The court turned down the plea observing that the question paper for only the first paper was leaked and the same has been cancelled and re-scheduled and an investigation by the state government was underway.

Hence, there was no need to intervene in the matter. Last week, a PIL filed by Pratiyogi Chhatra Sangharsh Samiti demanding a CBI probe into the leakage was also dismissed by the court which was of the view that it was a "service matter" and could not be pursued as a public interest litigation.
