Uphaar fire tragedy: Ansal brothers files appeal in SC

NEW DELHI: The Ansal brothers���Sushil and Gopal���on Tuesday filed an appeal against a Delhi High Court judgement upholding their conviction in the Uphaar fire tragedy which claimed 59 lives in 1997.

A bench headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan fixed January 23 to hear their petitions.

The High Court had upheld their conviction in the trial court but had reduced their sentence from two years to one.
