CHANDIGARH: BJP today criticised the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre, saying its policies were "anti-people and anti-poor".

"The policies of the Congress have brought the common and poor man at the verge of starvation," Satya Pal Jain, former MP and National Incharge of the Legal and Legislative Cell of the BJP, said at a rally here.

He alleged that the present government was responsible for the high prices of all the essential commodities, besides poverty, hunger and unemployment in the country.

He claimed the "anti-poor" policies of the government had left big industrialists richer and common man poorer.

He said the common man was finding it difficult to feed his family two times in a day, despite tall claims of the party leaders.
