UPA govt always worked for pro-people measures: Rajeev Shukla

'The Lokpal Bill draft is before the Committee which is making all efforts to prepare its report and send the same to the Cabinet at the earliest.'

ALLAHABAD: Union Minister Rajeev Shukla today said the Parliamentary Standing Committee is making all efforts to prepare its report on the Lokpal Bill and send it to the Cabinet at the earliest.

"The Lokpal Bill draft is before the Parliamentary Standing Committee which is making all efforts to prepare its report and send the same to the Cabinet at the earliest," he told reporters here.

"There should be no doubts regarding the government's intentions as it was the UPA only which had brought the RTI and is now in the process of bringing in a stringent law against money laundering. The UPA government has always worked for pro-people and anti-corruption measures," he said.

Without naming BJP patriarch L K Advani, he said "we would like to ask those who are taking rath yatras in the name of corruption, what did they do to bring any effective anti-graft law when they were in power."
