UPA framing policies in AC rooms, without connect with ground: Narendra Modi
DEHRADUN: Narendra Modi today accused the UPA government of losing connect with the country and framing development policies in AC rooms in Delhi with "scant regard" for the unique features of different regions, and claimed that Congress will not cross 10 seat tally in several states.

The BJP's prime ministerial candidate was addressing a rally at Vikasnagar near here.

"At present projects of the same nature are imposed on the whole country, a reason why they often fail to work out. We are a diverse country with some states abounding in rivers and some in deserts.

"How can we afford to have a single development model for the entire country?" he said adding, "one yardstick of development cannot apply to all regions," he said.

"Politics of caste or that of communities is of no use. Development alone is the cure of all our ills. But ours is a diverse country and our vision of development for a particular region should take into account its weaknesses and strengths," he said.

Modi alleged that development policies framed in air-conditioned rooms of Delhi are imposed on the whole country "showing scant regard for the unique features of the country's different regions."

He was here to garner support for party nominee from Tehri Lok Sabha seat Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah.

The BJP leader said that politics of development is the "panacea for all ills plaguing the nation."

"It is for this reason that the BJP in its manifesto has promised to devise a separate model of development for Himalayan states including Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand which have a geography different from the rest of the country," he said.

He claimed in terms of performance these elections will prove to be the worst in the history of Congress which will not cross the 10 seat tally in many states and will not even be able to open its accounts in several others.
