UP police hands three kidney racket accused to CBI

Uttar Pradesh police on Monday handed over to CBI three persons arrested in connection with the kidney transplant racket, in which Amit Kumar is the alleged kingpin.

MORADABAD: Uttar Pradesh police on Monday handed over to CBI three persons arrested in connection with the kidney transplant racket, in which Amit Kumar is the alleged kingpin.

Upendra, Gaysu and Jagdeesh, arrested by Moradabad police, were today produced before the Assistant Chief Judicial Magistrate in Gurgaon on CBI's request.

After the production of the arrested before the court, the case has been transferred to CBI, Moradabad's Senior Superintendent of Police Prem Prakash said.

"An application was filed in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Moradabad, which allowed the three to move to Gurgaon," he said.

The CBI is probing the racket in view of ramifications across the country and abroad.
