Uttar Pradesh: Yogi cabinet minister Dinesh Khatik resigns, alleges corruption
Influential Dalit minister from western Uttar Pradesh, Dinesh Khatik, has reportedly offered his resignation saying the departmental officials have been ignoring him. Minister of State for Jalshakti in the Yogi Adityanath government, Dinesh Khatik, expressed his desire to quit through a letter addressed to Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The letter has gone viral on social media.

However, when the media in his native Meerut district sought his reaction over his resignation, Khatik merely said, "There is no such issue." (Esa koi vishay nahi hai).

Reacting on this, opposition leader Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said: “Where there is no respect in being a minister and disrespect for being a Dalit, in such a situation to ensure respect of one’s community, the better and logical thing to do is to resign. "At times the bulldozer does move backwards too,” Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav tweeted.
