UP minister Chitranjan Swarup cremated in Muzaffarnagar

MUZAFFARNAGAR: Uttar Pradesh Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Chitranjan Swarup, who passed away yesterday after a prolonged illness, was cremated here today with full state honours.

Senior SP leader Azam Khan and state minister Nitin Aggarwal expressed grief and were present at the funeral ceremony in the district.

His mortal remains were consigned to flames in presence of a number of political leaders from various parties, along with social workers.

Sixty-nine-year-old Swarup, a three-time MLA from Muzaffarnagar, is survived by wife and three sons. He passed away after a prolonged illness at a Delhi hospital yesterday.
