UP Govt to hold investors meet without CM
UP Govt to hold investors meet in Mumbai without CM which might lead to promoters staying away.
A team of senior bureaucrats would interact with the investors at the meeting which would take place at the Taj Hotel in Mumbai. Though the bureaucrats have been well chosen, with most enjoying many years of experience in industry and related departments, the absence of the Chief Minister would definitely restrain leading business houses to repose faith in the state which has in the past earned a bad name for political interference in any big project.
Also the absence of the Chief Minister would lead to many industrial houses only sending their middle order representatives with the promoters choosing to stay away, confided an industrialist.
While invitations have been sent to all leading business groups, a source in the government said that, except those who have ongoing projects in the state, not many have confirmed their presence at the meet.
The Cabinet Secretary Shashank Shekhar Singh is slated to lead the delegation of officers. Industrial and Infrastructure Development Commissioner Anup Mishra said that prospective investors would be informed about the investment opportunities in the state and the facilities provided by the government to them.
The state governments efforts to improve the infrastructure would be highlighted before the investing community. Policies framed for inviting private investment in power generation, transmission and generation, expressways, townships, road transport, bus stations development etc would be highlighted before the business community in the financial capital of the country.
