NEW DELHI: Uttar Pradesh government will soon set up “Vyapari Kalyan Board“ (Traders' Welfare Board) to protect the interest of businessmen across the state. The board, which will function as a link between the state government and businessmen, will look into the problems traders and entrepreneurs face and solve the same within a fixed time.

After watching the PowerPoint Presentation by Commercial Tax Department in Lucknow on Monday night, Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath gave direction to constitute Traders' Welfare Board.

CM Yogi was apparently concerned about the preparation undertaken by the Commercial Tax department for the implementation of GST in the state. During his talks with the officials, he underlined the need for making administrative structure easy and creating a favourable situation for business in the state.

He also asked the officials concerned to take necessary steps for constituting “Vishesh Madhyasthata Pradhikaran“ (Special Mediation Authority) chaired by the District Magistrates in every district. The Authority is supposed to solve the disputes involving traders. His special focus is also on proper implementation of Social Security and Insurance schemes meant for traders and entrepreneurs.

What is important is that CM Yogi has fixed April 30 as deadline for completing the works relating to the migration of traders and merchants registered in the state to GST. He asked the senior officials to ensure GSTN portal training programme employees and officers.

Special programme like seminars and workshops would be organised to make aware traders and other stakeholders about GST provisions. UP government has set the July 2017 as deadline for completing the task of monitoring and tracking of the vehicles entering the state with the help of Radio Frequency Identification Device. Yogi hoped that GST regime will enhance business activities and create fresh opportunities for jobs, besides industrial development.
