UP government shunts out police officer from the Women Powerline 1090

Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav is learnt to have taken cognizance of print media reports regarding a girl being harassed by Sub Inspector Kunwar Raghvendra Pratap Singh, and ordered strict action against him.

LUCKNOW: The state government shunted out an police officer from the Women Powerline 1090, after a complaint was received against him for eve teasing. Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav is learnt to have taken cognizance of print media reports regarding a girl being harassed by Sub Inspector Kunwar Raghvendra Pratap Singh, and ordered strict action against him. The girl had approached Women Power Line 10190 with a complaint, which was taken up by Kunwar Raghvendra Pratap, but the officer instead of dealing with the complaint started harassing the girl. He tried to coerce her to meet him outside the Women Powerline office and forcing her to befriend him. After resisting his advances initially, the girl took up the matter with higher ups.
The government shunted him out of Women Powerline 1090 and an internal enquiry has been ordered.

Brainchiled of Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, Women Powerline is meant for providing relief to women victim of online, phone harassment and stalking. "IPS officer Navneet Sikera has been asked to probe the matter and submit a report. Singh has been sent to his initial posting at Radio Head quarters", said a home department spokesperson.
