UP government rescinds order on opening and closing time of malls, shops

UP govt today withdrew the orders fixing opening and closue timings of shops, malls and restaurants to deal with severe power crisis.

LUCKNOW: Facing protests from business establishments and opposition parties, Uttar Pradesh government today withdrew the orders fixing opening and closue timings of shops, malls and restaurants to deal with severe power crisis.

An official release issued here said that the labour department has withdrawan the order issued yesterday on opening and closure timings with immediate effect.

The order said that henceforth all the shops, malls and restaurants would open and close as per the arrangement before June 17, 2012.

The earlier order had said all shops and malls would open at 11am and down shutters at 7pm.

After the issue figured prominently in the assembly with BJP and Congress staging a walkout, cabinet minister Shivpal Singh Yadav said the govenrment is not in a position to supply power after 7pm in the evening.
