UP government plans one-month celebration after inauguration of Kashi Vishwanath corridor
The corridor is likely to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 13.

The corridor is likely to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 13, according to people aware of the matter. The project is being completed on a war footing, said officials. To complete the work on time, Kashi Vishwanath temple will remain closed for devotees on December 1, when work will be carried out throughout the day and night, they said.
The PM is expected to visit Varanasi for three days from December 13-15 and participate in several other programmes as well. Around the same time a chief ministers' conference has also been planned, likely to be held on December 15. CMs of other BJP-ruled states are scheduled to arrive a day earlier for the conference.
The UP government has also planned to hold its cabinet meeting at the Kashi Vishwanath corridor on December 20.
The corridor holds significance for the government and the BJP, especially in view of the upcoming assembly elections. The state government wants to highlight it as one of its biggest achievements and a major milestone in the development of Varanasi and nearby areas.
Other programmes will continue till January 6, including a Sant Samagam, where saints from different parts of the country will be invited.
